About Yupa Eco Cotton
Since 2022
When I started crocheting in 2022, I really wanted to add a beautiful, sustainable cotton yarn to my shop. But I couldn't find anything that truly appealed to me, and in a crazy moment I thought: 'Then I'll just make it myself!'
Easier said than done, of course, but how fun is it to see your own product come to life! And after years of researching and fine-tuning, Yupa Eco Cotton is now the perfect recycled cotton yarn for all your crochet projects.
Fun fact: the name comes from my own official name: Yuan Pauline!
Cotton with a story
Locally produced, 100% recycled
Yupa Eco Cotton is made from textile and cutting waste that would otherwise have ended up in the bin.
The textile is sourced in Spain and Italy and produced in the Netherlands.

Use
How to use Yupa Eco Cotton
You can use Yupa Eco Cotton for a variety of crochet projects. You crochet this sustainable cotton yarn with a 4.5 mm - 5 mm hook, and it holds its shape well, which makes it very suitable for accessories such as the Festival Bucket Hat and Sunglass Case.
It's also great for crocheting bags. The Zigzag Bag and the Beach Bag, for example, were both designed with Yupa.
Crocheting garments is also an option, with a larger hook and an airy design such as the Sevilla Mesh Top.
Good to know
Kits + loose fibers
💡 For all the crochet patterns I designed with Yupa Eco Cotton, I also put together matching crochet kits. Take a look!
Loose fibers, because it's recycled
Because this cotton yarn is recycled, it can split a bit more easily than you might be used to from other yarns. That's not really a problem, but it's good to keep in mind. Especially when you're just starting out, it can take some getting used to.
Prefer a yarn that splits less? Then yarns like Durable Cosy Fine or Durable Coral might be a better fit for you.
