I always say: 'A good crochet hook is your best friend'.

When I first started crocheting, I bought my materials as cheaply as I possibly could. That meant a hook without any grip, made entirely of metal or sometimes even plastic.

Not long after, I discovered aluminium crochet hooks that did have a grip, for just a few euros more. What a world of difference. I never touched those old hooks again.
